Factory

SUMMARY

An industrial factory where many goods are packaged and sent to their destinations. What they are and where they are going is unknown, but the security system here is top notch. Don't break too many crates, otherwise the factory will engage in lockdown mode and there's no escape then.

INTENTS AND CONSTRAINTS

Intents

Constraints

- Make a compact level with lots of moving parts

- Allow for the players to take control over the movement options' availability

- Make every decision a strategic one in an attempt to stop an opponent, whether intentional or not

- Give the players natural cover/obstacles that are easily changeable/workable

- One week to sketch and design the first version of the level

- Must allow for the players to utilize the warping mechanic of the game on both top/bottom and left/right of the stage

- Must have at least 1-2 interactable elements/mechanics in the level

- Must be able to access all portions of a level without needing to warp

Conveyors/Crates

The conveyors will be activated at the start of the round and will have crates travel down them towards the players to act as obstacles and/or cover for them to utilize. They may have to fight against the flow to remain in an advantageous position or could go with the flow to be ever changing. The angled ones are mostly for more traversal options but can also be used as cover or even a bait/trap for an opponent. The players can also destroy the crates, but once they destroy too many the factory engages in lockdown mode and all environmental options are permanently shut down and walls enclose the level, making warping impossible.

Powered Doors

The doors located in the three sections are a very special type of platform. When a player approaches them from below and they are activated (green light), they will open and allow them and any projectiles/items through before quickly closing and allowing them a platform to stand on. if they are deactivated (red light), the doors will remain closed at all times and nothing will be allowed through. If lockdown mode is engaged, the doors will close/stay permanently closed.

Activator Buttons

These buttons allow the players direct access to the availability of the conveyors and doors. They can hit them to make them available/start working or stop them from functioning at any time. Once lockdown mode is engaged, the buttons will be permanently unusable as all production (and thus functioning of the conveyors and doors) will cease.
